Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour Forms the base of your dough.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar Adds a touch of sweetness to the dough.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast Helps the dough rise beautifully.
  • 1 cup Milk Warmed, adds moisture and richness.
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened, crucial for flaky texture.
  • 2 large Eggs Provide structure and richness to the dough.

Filling of your choice

  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips For a sweet filling option.
  • 1/2 cup Fruit jam For a fruity filling option.
  • 1/2 cup Cream cheese For a rich filling option.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded cheese For savory filling options.

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.
  • Warm the milk until lukewarm, then add it along with the eggs to the dry mixture. Mix until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter over the surface.
  • Fold the dough into thirds like a letter, roll it out again, and repeat the butter and folding process two more times.
  • Cut the dough into triangles and place a spoonful of filling at the wide end. Roll tightly to form a spiral shape and tuck the tip underneath.
  • Place each filled cruffin into a greased muffin tin and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cruffins for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
