Ingredients
  

Chicken

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/75°C). Remove chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  • Sprinkle flour over the onion and garlic mixture, stirring well for 1 minute. Gradually pour in the chicken broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the heavy cream to the sauce, stir well, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and a pinch of salt, cover, and reduce heat to low. Cook for 15-20 minutes until tender and water is absorbed.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the creamy sauce, ensuring each piece is well-coated. If using, add vegetables and stir gently.
  • Cover and let simmer on low heat for 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve over the fluffy rice.
